what you see as brown is not actually part of the skin, but something called melonin which is more prevalent in places where the sun is more direct...
everyone is really white/yellow/pinkish in reality...all one family.

i had the dubious pleasure of explaining the 1914 generation change doctrine to a relative who has been a jw for all of his life the other day.
he didn't even know that there had been a generation change and that the wt was no longer claiming that those alive in 1914 would still be alive when armageddon struck.. however, he said he would only believe me if i could tell him the exact date of the watchtower that explained this change.. though i know it is 1995, i do not know the exact date/issue and he refused to research it claiming it would show lack of faith on his part if he questioned his beliefs....but he said he would look it up if i told him which issue it was.. so, please, could anyone direct me to the exact issue in which this world shattering event was revealed?.
i remember, many jws, especially elderly ones being shocked at this revelation, but obviously this particular relative was not concentrating at the time!!

and assuming the jews were to stupid to realize that a year has more than 360 days in it is really stretching things... they knew very well that in every 19 year lunar cycle there were 4 extra months added along the way... so it was all making $#!+ up from the beginning, just as religion has always done.

the paradox of who created the creator seems to lead to an infinite regression... a dead end. the idea of reality being always intelligent and always godlike seems a stretch, however if the universe is made of simple building blocks that can form in a nearly infinite variety of ways, spontenious order is not out of the question...and apparently we do find evidence for this everywhere.
no god required for a myriad of different well ordered snow flake patterns. nor common crystal formations. that carbon possesses the versitility to form itself into many complex patterns..and seems to be essential for living systems seems to fit the bill.
the argument that the universe seems to finely tuned to living systems is offered as evidence of divine orgins, however the universe seems more finely tuned to produce lifeless vaccuum and ice rather than life. life seems to be extremely rare in the vast universe, which is why chance, not a god would produce.
the fact that models of evolution in computers have been made which actually work as evolution predicts they should... even to the point of showing how eyes evolved, indicates that evolution is a viable theory. While there are many varients of evolution, there are no rivals to it...
magic is not a viable rival to HOW living systems were produced. if a god did it, there should be some way of duplicating the work, perhaps showing that an intelligent mind is required to put the peices together, but all creationists have is the argument from ignorance...

it seems to me that many jws who leave are so anti-religion because of their jw indoctrinations that they rarely investigate much outside of their cultural up bringing..... so how many here have done more than read about things like buddhism, hinduism, new age, etc... actually lived these alternatives rather than just glanced their way?.
and what was the result?.
